Laura Umansky

Texas-born designer Laura Umansky is the President and Creative Director of Laura U Interior Design. After earning a Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Houston, Laura joined a resort design group, where she specialized in designing luxury vacation homes. An early maverick in the design industry, she founded her own firm in 2006 before reaching the age of 30. Laura U Interior Design has grown into a multi-faceted business with offices in Houston and Aspen that handle projects spanning the globe. Laura’s Classically Current© style incorporates clean lines with striking details to bridge the gap between high design and practical living.

Laura has been honored with prestigious awards, including Best of Houzz; National Gold List from LUXE Interiors + Design; numerous ASID awards for outstanding interiors, including Best of Show 2012; Leader in Design from the Houston Design Center; and Design Star on the Rise from the Decorative Center of Houston. She is also an active member of the interior design community as an Allied Member of ASID and an Associate Member of AIA.
